Engagement Process

We design tailored Engagement Processes

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea”. (A. de St. Exupery)

Change Management is the mechanical project-based aspect of change. It is necessary, but insufficient to return people to the performance level they had prior to the change. We are experts in Change Leadership, the psychological aspect of change. We create tailored engagement processes which support profound changes of vision, strategy, organization culture or post acquisition integration in companies.

Following the lessons of the Greek philosopher, Aristotle, we believe that leaders must engage their people at three levels:

  • Logos (intellectual agenda): Leaders must co-create clarity, meaning and ownership (by providing space for discussions and exploration) around the change that they wish to embark their people on.
  • Ethos (behavioural agenda): Leaders’ credibility is instantaneously destroyed when their behaviours do not match the change they advocate. Followers scrutinize and observe their leaders prior to following them into challenging times. Ostensibly displaying behaviours coherent with the stated intention makes or breaks  sustainable change.
  • Pathos (emotional agenda): One of the most respected neuroscientist of the XXIst century, Antonio Damasio, explains that it is critical to link change to positive “somatic markers” (positive memories). It is the connection between logic and those positive emotions which will convince people to “move from intentions to action”.

We support our clients to deliver the profound changes they wish to see, through programs designed around these three agendas.
